Idollist — DMCA Policy Last updated: 30 May 2026 Idollist respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects all Users to do the same. This DMCA Policy sets out the procedures for submitting and responding to notices of alleged copyright infringement in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), and applies exclusively to content published on idollist.co. This Policy operates alongside the General Terms & Conditions and all other applicable Idollist policies. Where a conflict arises between this Policy and the General Terms on a matter this Policy specifically addresses, this Policy takes precedence. All defined terms carry the meanings given to them in the General Terms & Conditions, unless stated otherwise here.

DEFINITIONS

“DMCA” means the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998, codified at 17 U.S.C. § 512. “Infringing Material” means any User Content alleged to infringe the copyright of a third party. “Notice” means a formal notification of claimed copyright infringement submitted in accordance with 17 U.S.C. § 512(c). “Counter-Notice” means a formal response disputing a takedown request, submitted in accordance with 17 U.S.C. § 512(g).

POLICY

1. SUBMITTING A NOTICE OF INFRINGEMENT

Although Idollist Ltd is not a US-based entity, it voluntarily complies with the DMCA’s Notice and Takedown framework as a matter of good practice and respect for intellectual property rights. Copyright owners or their authorised representatives may submit a DMCA Notice by emailing support@idollist.com. To be valid, a Notice must include all of the following: A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or their authorised representative; A clear description of the copyrighted work or works alleged to have been infringed; Identification of the specific content on the Platform that is alleged to be infringing, together with enough information for us to locate it; Your full contact details, including name, postal address, telephone number, and email address; A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, their agent, or applicable law; and A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your Notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on their behalf. All Notices must be submitted in English. Notices written in other languages or using non-Latin characters will not be processed. Idollist may remove or disable access to content that is the subject of a valid Notice. Accounts found to be repeatedly infringing the rights of others may be terminated without prior notice.

2. HOW IDOLLIST RESPONDS TO A VALID NOTICE

On receipt of a Notice that meets the requirements set out in Section 1, Idollist will: Remove or disable access to the content identified as Infringing Material; Notify the User responsible for the content that it has been removed; and Inform that User of their right to submit a Counter-Notice if they believe the removal was made in error. Idollist reserves the right to remove content at its discretion, without prior notice and without liability to the User, where it believes a valid infringement claim has been made. Users whose accounts are found to involve repeated infringement may be permanently suspended in accordance with the General Terms & Conditions.

3. SUBMITTING A COUNTER-NOTICE

If you believe that your content was removed as a result of a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a Counter-Notice to support@idollist.com. To be valid, a Counter-Notice must include: Your physical or electronic signature; Identification of the content that was removed and its location on the Platform before removal; A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief that the content was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification; Your full name, postal address, telephone number, and email address; and A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of a US Federal District Court if you are based in the United States, or to the jurisdiction of a court in your country of residence if you are based outside the United States, and that you will accept service of process from the party who submitted the original Notice. Idollist will forward any valid Counter-Notice to the original complainant. If the complainant does not initiate legal proceedings within 10 to 14 business days of receiving the Counter-Notice, Idollist may, at its discretion, restore the removed content.

4. MISUSE AND PENALTIES

The DMCA process must not be used in bad faith. Knowingly submitting a false Notice or Counter-Notice — including making materially inaccurate statements — may expose you to legal liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), and may also result in enforcement action under Idollist’s Acceptable Use Policy, up to and including permanent removal from the Platform. Idollist will investigate any suspected misuse of the DMCA notification process and will take appropriate action where abuse is confirmed.
